The council will consider selecting a development team for affordable housing at Ashby BART’s east parking lot and reserving $1 million for planning, alongside transferring small city-owned parcels to support the North Berkeley BART housing development. Other proposals would strengthen competitive bidding for city service contracts, improve accessibility during street construction, and tighten waste-reduction rules for buildings and special events. Councilmembers will also consider funding for gun-violence prevention and traffic safety, requiring underground electrical transformers at new developments, and renaming the northern waterfront park Sí Se Puede Park.
